Faith, Hope, Peace Ministries traces its beginning to Faith (Oak Lawn) member Betty Baker talking Pastor Matt Gunia, who was visiting her facility while seeing a member of his congregation. She asked Pastor Gunia share God’s Word with her because there was not a regular worship service for residents at her facility at that time. After their visit, Pastor Gunia contacted Faith’s Pastor to see if he would be willing to take turns sharing God's Word with the residents there in worship and one-on-one. In September 2009, the first service was held under what has becomes Faith, Hope, & Peace Ministries and included 16 residents in attendance in one facility. On Christmas Eve of that same year, worship include 82 people with generations from one family who might not have otherwise heard the true Christmas story. Since these small beginnings, our ministry has expanded now to include 19 facilities served with by almost 50 participating congregations.
We serve many residents who desire to stay connected to the body of Christ as they did for most of their lives. As we have grown, we now worship with residents and employees of facility’s served, many of whom may not be believers in Jesus Christ as their Savior. Our worship services include around 350 people per week at 19. Our worship services include reading God's worship and sharing the true message of salvation found in Jesus Christ. In all services, we welcome all who are interested and desire to hear this saving word. If you have a loved one in a residential facility that we do not currently serve, please contact us so we might consider providing a service there.
